Ibiza old town guide for Muslim travelers

Explore the cobbled streets, the numerous attractions and the local shops of this beautiful Baleary Island in Spain

When in Ibiza, a visit to Eivissa Dalt Vila is a must.  Dalt Vila refers to the oldest part of Ibiza’s Old Town and is therefore the ideal place for those looking to explore and discover. Literally translating to ‘Ibiza Upper Town’.A lot of this Old Town has in fact been named an UNESCO World Heritage site, as it is home to networks of narrow, winding, steep cobbled streets and incredible architecture. A great way to explore this part of town is on foot.

Visitors to the area will start off their tour at the main entrance consisting of a drawbridge and statues. They will then come across the Plaza de Vila; a lively square, as well as the 14th century Cathedral of Santa Maria d’Eivissa, the Necropolis of Puig des Molins; which is a fascinating cemetery with a network of burial chambers hidden deep underground, remnants from Arab, Catalan and Renaissance periods, numerous shops and restaurants, a preserved fortified acropolis, the Museu Arqueologic d’Eivissa i Formentera; which is a free museum, and many more. Although the area is a popular nightlife spot, during the day, it makes a great destination for shopping, sightseeing and people watching.
