Don’t miss some of the best halal restaurants in London!

London caters pretty well to those that want to eat halal meat. From chain restaurants to indie venues, fast food to fine dining affairs, there’s a decent choice for anyone wanting to eat out. And it’s not just Indian or Middle Eastern joints either – diners, Asian restaurants and fusion food are in our list too.

Halal eaters don’t have to miss out on London’s ongoing love of the burger. Stax Diner in Carnaby Street serves up all halal meat with a Deep South take on the classic burger. There’s also fried chicken and waffles if you’re not a burger king.

HOPPERS

Asian

While you might struggle getting a table (lines are often out the door and round the block), super popular Sri Lankan restaurant Hoppers does make sure all of its meat – chicken, lamb and mutton – is halal. The hoppers, dosas and curries are worth the wait though – you’ll be begging for more.

GUANABANA

Caribbean, American, $$$

Caribbean-themed Guanabana serve up good times, great food and halal food to boot. While it’s only a small place, it serves up an amazing array of Latin American and Caribbean dishes like the goat curry and spicy chicken stew. Oh, and there’s burgers if you’re not feeling the spice.

Transport yourself to north India in Mayfair at the award-winning Chor Bizarre, an upmarket Indian restaurant. Mismatched furniture and intricate decor make every meal here feel like a unique experience. All the lamb and chicken is halal – try the tandoori lamb chops or the hot chicken chettinad.

INITO

Indian

Indian street food is what’s on offer at Inito near Liverpool Street. There’s a huge range of small plates and Indian twists on much loved classics like pani puri or masala guacamole. Of course curries have their place, as do roti wraps and grills. All the meat here is halal.

CHAI WU

Chinese

Located inside Harrods, this high end Chinese restaurant serves all halal meat so you can order with no worries. Great for a post-shopping treat or after a museum day in South Ken, Chai Wu has pretty glam decor and some fabulously yummy dishes. Try the shredded beef wagyu with hot and sour sauce, or the sweet and sour chicken served in a dragon fruit.

New Mediterranean grill restaurant in Wood Green, Tarshish only serves halal meat in its huge two-storey restaurant. Turkish favourites can be found here alongside fusion dishes, with a family’s love of cooking at the restaurant’s core. Try the lamb beyti or the chicken shish for a real taste of Turkey.
