The Itinerary
Day 1 - Madrid
In the 9th century, Emir Muhammad I built a fortress to protect strategic routes to Toledo. For over 250 years, Mayrit stood as the northern frontier of Al-Andalus, shaping the city’s Islamic heritage.
Today, Madrid is a vibrant and artistic city filled with cultural and culinary treasures.
Enjoy the tour through historic neighborhoods of Madrid de los Austrias and La Latina, where the Morería (the former Muslim quarter) once thrived long after the Christian conquest of 1085 Although few traces remain, the Museum of San Isidro preserves remnants of this era, offering a glimpse into the city’s Islamic past. A visit to iconic landmarks like Plaza Mayor, a beautiful 17th-century square or taking a photo in the Royal Palace is a must.
During your stay in the city, don’t miss to stroll along Gran Vía, known for its mix of Beaux-Arts and Art Deco buildings. And maybe finish your day at Crystal Palace in Retiro Park.
Day 2 - Madrid & Cordoba
Afterwards, stroll through the former Muslim quarter — today known as the Jewish Quarter — a maze of narrow, whitewashed streets filled with flowered courtyards and timeless charm. As you walk, uncover the layered history of this World Heritage site and admire the elegant remnants of Andalusi architecture still visible throughout the city.
Enjoy panoramic views from the Roman Bridge and the Calahorra Tower framing the old city as it once appeared to travelers of Al-Andalus. Step into artisan workshops and discover Córdoba’s rich tradition of craftsmanship — from fine leatherwork and ceramics to exquisite silver and gold filigree, techniques perfected here for centuries. Overnight in Seville.
Optional Experience: Enjoy an extraordinary equestrian performance at the Royal Stables of Córdoba.
Day 3 - Cordoba & Seville
Day 4 - Seville
Continue with a leisurely stroll through the Santa Cruz Quarter — once the heart of Seville’s old medina — where winding alleys, flower-filled patios, and inviting tapas bars create an atmosphere of timeless charm. From here, enjoy views over the Wadi al-Kabir River (today’s Guadalquivir) as you explore other vestiges of Islamic Seville, including the Golden Tower and the Giralda, the former minaret of the Almohad mosque of Ishbiliya.
Optional Experience: Enhance your visit with a 1-hour sightseeing cruise along the Guadalquivir River (€18,00 pp).
Day 5 - Seville & Granada
After check-in, a taxi will pick you up to take you up the Albacin Hill to discover the soul of Madinat Gharnata, the medieval city that flourished under Islamic rule from the 11th century. Stroll through the Albaicín Quarter (UNESCO World Heritage), the historic heart of Islamic Granada, where the narrow, winding streets still follow the original layout of the Andalusi medina.
As you wander its whitewashed lanes, pause at scenic viewpoints such as San Nicolás Square, offering breathtaking views of the Alhambra framed by the snow-capped Sierra Nevada. Continue along the Darro River, following a picturesque boulevard lined with Renaissance palaces, stone bridges, and remnants of Moorish houses, cisterns, and fortress walls that once defined the vibrant spirit of Al-Andalus.
Optional experience: End your evening with an unforgettable Flamenco show in Granada, where passionate music and dance echo the deep Andalusi soul of the city.
Day 6 - Granada
Later, we will visit the Alhambra Museum, home to exceptional artifacts that reveal daily life and the refined aesthetics of the Nasrid court.
Transfer back to your hotel or city center is included. Free time for lunch and we will meet again to explore other areas of Granada’s historic center to discover its traditional craft markets, where centuries-old techniques are still preserved, its former merchants’ inn, and the remains of the ancient Madrasah.
